The Nikon D90 was released in 2008 for $999.95 for the camera body only. It was bundled with the Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-NIKKOR 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR kit lens for None.

Third party batteries are available that are much less expensive than an OEM Nikon battery. Even better is that newer third party batteries have built-in USB charging. That’s good because the D90 cannot charge the battery via the USB port.
The USB port is for slow data transfer only. A memory card reader will be the fastest and they are usable by phones.
