Best SD Cards

Like all things tech, the pricing of SD cards has greatly fallen since the release of the Canon PowerShot SD4500 IS.

Since the cost are so cheap, it does not be wise to pay for anything but a pro-level card.

The best SD memory cards I own have been the SanDisk Extreme Pro, Lexar Professional, and PNY Elite Performance models. I have never endured corrupted data or a card failure with any of those SD cards.

All the trouble I have had has been with generic unbranded memory cards. Seeking to save around a buck isn't worth the cost if your PowerShot SD4500 IS is going to have hassles.

To save money, opt for a lower storage capacity memory card from a high-quality manufacturer. That way, you'll not have to be worried about the images stored on the SD card.

Card Speed

Speed ratings of an SD memory card is based on the continuous write and read speeds. The speed of a SD card is essential for video as well as continuous shooting.

Slows cards can reduce the number of continuous images the Canon PowerShot SD4500 IS can take. This is because the buffer in the camera is not able to write data to the card fast enough.

With video, a slow SD card can cause an abrupt end to recording. The video file may also be corrupted. If you are going to record video, it is critical the SD card you use meets the minimum requirements of the PowerShot SD4500 IS.

Card read speed is nice to have for transferring files to a computer. If you have cards that are full, a card with a fast transfer speed will save you time.
